Our Story

Young@Hart was founded by Sonya and Mel with a focus on companionship and meaningful support. Whether assisting with transportation to appointments, offering a helping hand around the house, or simply providing conversation, our mission is to help clients stay connected and supported. We proudly serve the Deal area, empowering adults who need extra support—not just seniors—to lead enriched lives.

Our Values

At Young@Hart, we prioritise personalised support that respects our clients’ independence and dignity. Our services are flexible and tailored to meet each individual’s unique needs, including assistance with outer garments like shoes, coats, and scarves, as well as support to the bathroom. We do not provide personal care such as bathing or toileting, nor do we administer medication; clients must be able to manage these independently or with the help of another responsible adult.

Above all, our compassionate approach is grounded in kindness, community engagement, and a commitment to helping clients maintain a fulfilling, active lifestyle.

About Me

This photo is of me and my mother. I am on the right hand side and my name is Sonya Hart-Watler, the founder of this company Young@Hart Ltd.

My mother Annette, is significant, in that she was my inspiration for the name of the company. I have always felt my mother’s spirit was “young at heart” and even after health issues of her own, she still holds that for me.

After recovering from some health issues myself, I had an epiphany that I wanted to start this company. On my journey I was lucky enough to find someone else who shared the same vision as me. That is why I joined forces with the lovely Mel Harriss

I have worked for many years in Health and Social Care and worked with the general public in different support capacities too. From these and personal experiences, I decided I wanted to offer services to people that wanted to choose their support and companionship. To have people support them in day to day tasks, go out on social activities with companionship and have an advocate supporting their best interests, to improve their overall well-being.

Support is also needed for family members or friends that help to manage a lot of their loved ones time and care. Sometimes having a few hours of their own, knowing that their loved one is enjoying their time too, in safe, kind hands, can be just as valuable.

I aim to provide consistent support that is person-centred around their needs and requirements and to become a part of their journey, to enjoy their best life.
